Freuten sich, Prof. Chisa Shukunami (Mitte) von der Universität Hiroshima (Japan) in der Orthopädischen Klinik König-Ludwig-Haus begrüßen zu können (von links): Prof. Denitsa Docheva, PD Dr. Ioannis Stratos und Prof. Maximilian Rudert.

 

Würzburg. Prof. Denitsa Docheva (Lehrstuhl für Regeneration Muskuloskelettaler Gewebe) und Prof. Maximilian Rudert (Orthopädische Klinik König-Ludwig-Haus KLH) hatten die große Ehre, Prof. Chisa Shukunami und Kolleginnen von der Universität Hiroshima (Japan) im Zeitraum 30. August 2023 bis 6. September 2023 in Würzburg begrüßen zu dürfen.

Basierend auf einer etablierten Zusammenarbeit erhielten Prof. Shukunami und Prof. Docheva von der JSPS (Japanese Society for Promotion of Science) ein gemeinsames KAKENHI, ein Programm zur internationalen Forschungsförderung, für den Zeitraum Oktober 2022 – März 2026. Der Hauptzweck der Förderung ist die weitere Stärkung der Zusammenarbeit sowie die Unterstützung des wissenschaftlichen Austauschs zwischen den Partnern. Prof. Shukunami ist eine weltweit anerkannte Forscherin auf dem Gebiet der Entwicklung des Bewegungsapparates mit besonderem Schwerpunkt auf Sehnen und deren Verbindungen zu Knochen und Muskeln.

Prof. Shukunami und ihr Team (Assistant Prof. Haruko Takahashi und Assistant Prof. Atsuko Hamada) besuchten das KLH am 31. August 2023 und am Nachmittag hielt Prof. Shukunami einen Vortrag zum Thema „Eigenschaften von Zellpopulationen, die zur Bildung faserknorpeliger Enthesen beitragen“, der auf großes Interesse und anschließende Diskussion stieß. Im Anschluss daran hielt PD Ioannis Stratos aus dem KLH einen Bericht über die klinische Behandlung der „Tendinopathie der Achillessehne“.

In den folgenden Tagen besuchten Prof. Shukunami und ihr Team die Forschungslabore unseres Lehrstuhls an dem Innovations- und Gründerzentrum (IGZ) und es fanden verschiedene Kooperationsbesprechungen statt. Rückblickend war es ein sehr erfolgreicher Besuch, auch hinsichtlich der Wissenschaft und Kultur fand ein spannender Austausch statt.

GUEST VISIT & SEMINAR - Prof. Shukunami / Hiroshima University /Japan

Wuerzburg. Prof. Denitsa Docheva (The Department of Musculoskeletal Tissue Regeneration) and Prof. Maximilian Rudert (Orthopaedic Hospital König-Ludwig-Haus KLH) were very honoured by the visit of Prof. Chisa Shukunami and colleagues from Hiroshima University (Japan) in the period 30.08.2023 to 06.09.2023.

Based on an established collaboration, Prof. Docheva and Prof. Shukunami were awarded a Fund for the Promotion of Joint International Research (Fostering Joint International Research (B)) by the JSPS: Japanese Society for Promotion of Science for the period October 2022 – March 2026. Main scope of the grant is further strengthening of the collaboration as well as supporting scientific exchanges between the partners. Prof. Shukunami is a world-renowned researcher in the area of musculoskeletal development with particular focus on tendons and their connections to bone and muscle.

Prof. Shukunami and her team (Assistant Prof. Haruko Takahashi and Assistant Prof. Atsuko Hamada) visited KLH on the 31. August 2023 and in the afternoon Prof. Shukunami held a lecture on the topic “Properties of cell populations that contribute to fibrocartilagenous enthesis formation” which wasreceived with great interest and follow up discussion. Following the Lecture of Prof. Shukunami, on behalf of the KLH, Associate Prof. Ioannis gave a report on clinical management of ”Tendinopathy of the Achilles tendon”.

In the following days Prof. Shukunami and her team visited the research laboratories at the Innovative Gründer Zentrum (IGZ) and various collaborative meetings took place. In sum, it was a very successful visit and there was also an exciting exchange in terms of science and culture.
